
5 oz grapefruit juice
1.5 oz vodka
.5 oz Crème de Violette
¼ tsp fine kosher salt
Juice of ½ lime
1.5 oz coconut water
½ tsp avocado butter
Shake vigorously with ice, strain into salt-rimmed collins glass… or mason jar, or highball tumblr you stole from the old spaghetti factory. Garnish with a square of nori and a sprig of violet, or have so many you no longer care that all the salt is gone and fuck that garnish.
(brief notes: The coconut water provides a nice sweetness to balance out the tart citruses. Fine salt in the drink, coarse salt on the rim. The garnish is ostentatious but punches up that amazing sea breeze vacation air feel. Avocado butter I just learned last year can be used instead of egg white in drinks to make them have that creamy frothy top like you see here without offending your vegan friends… and, you know, that whole Salmonella thing if you use unpasteurized egg white.)
