My problem with the “It takes two seconds to Google It” attitude of Educate Yourself rhetoric is credible sources.
A quick google search will probably bring a person to a major organization and as we know with, say, the HRC or Autism Speaks, that mainstream organizations are not always the most representative of the causes they claim to support.
But when someone who knows nothing about an issue is dismissed to a google search, mainstream organizations are going to appear the most credible and they’re likely going to stop there.
Is that really us doing our best jobs as educators?
