I think it’s hugely disrespectful to all religions that you can call a gay ceremony a “marriage” bearing in mind basically all the mainstream religions condem homosexuality. I don’t care if…
What if I started a protestant religion that’s says only gay people can get married and not straight people. Anyone can make up a Protestant religion. Just take the Bible, claim God or Jesus or any biblical figure came to you in a vision and define your own moral code under the guise of having been dictated to you personally by said deity. Viola! You have a religion. And its a Christian one too so its gotta be a good one, right?
The following religions practice same-sex marriages or commitment ceremonies in some or all congregations:
Protestants (Metropolitan Community Churches, United Church of Christ, certain Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian parishes)
Buddhists
Taoists
Unitarians
Quakers (the liberal ones, anyways)
Reform Jews
Secular Humanists
Athiests/Non-theists
Pagans
Scientologists
Various members of the New Thought Movement
New Age hippie fucks
A few Christian Scientists
Honestly I Say…: I don’t agree with gay marriage so no I won’t reblog it
