Ok, so I wasn’t really fat. However, before I had the surgery they tried for years to control my symptoms by putting me on huge doses of prednisone. I would take like 80-100mg a day and it did awful things to me. I did put on some weight, got up to 150 or 160 maybe at one point, but one of the typical symptoms of heavy prednisone use is a swelling of the neck and cheeks with excess fluid – the classic “moon face” presentation. So from the neck up I looked much heavier for a time.
