She was very hesitant to diagnose me with an autism spectrum disorder. Instead, she believes I have severe social anxiety and, of course, there’s a pill for that. So we’ll try this out and hope things finally get better. I’m so tired of misinterpreting what everyone says to me, thinking everyone is mad at me and blundering through scores of miscommunications and faux pas every day.
Amazing how much quicker docs come to a diagnosis when they know there’s a pill for it. How much sway do you think pharmaceutical companies have in affecting the way doctors understand, diagnose and treat diseases?
