What CD/song/album/music do you turn on when you are happy? Sad? Angry? Flirty?

Almost too much to mention. My new go-to happy album is Pearl Jam’s Backspacer. It’s the closest thing they’ve made to a party album ever, it’s sunny, mature and joyful in a way that their previous albums never managed to be. I think they might have fatigued themselves of all the clenched self-righteousness of the last 1.7 decades. Also the Ramones tend to make me happy.

I have lots and lots of sad music, I like stuff that’s mellow and world-weary. Sticky Fingers seems to just hit the spot when I feel like I’ve had too much of everything. It’s a drug-addled reflection on life’s decay, even the uptempo songs have something very dark and benumbed lying deep within them.

Most of my music is angry. Pantera and RATM and Slayer and other things you wouldn’t like.

I’m never flirty. I can’t flirt. My idea of a flirty lyric is The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin, in which Robert Plant is essentially saying “Hey, you seem cute, I like you. Want to give me a hand job? Also, I call my penis ‘lemon’.”
