They remind of me of college kids who listen to their 70s equivalents: they listen to Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, possibly the Doors or the Clash.
Definitely Bob Marley. The 90s tards and the 70s tards.
Both of these kinds of people hang out at CD stores (note: places that don’t sell vinyl records, that’s a different kind of person). These CD stores are usually located on college campuses and they sell lots of big posters of (duh) Bob Marley; Jim Morrison; Led Zeppelin (usually standing outside of that airplane); all of Pink Floyd’s album covers that aren’t The Piper at the Gates of Dawn; and of course Kurt Cobain posters with either his birth date stamped over it in that really tacky ‘worn out’ font or with his name emblazoned somewhere on it (in an equally bad font), for people who know absolutely nothing.
I really don’t like these people. But then, I’m listening to Blood Sex Sugar Magik, so what the hell do I know? (I’m also starting at the Pearl Jam poster I bought when I was, like, 14, so it probably doesn’t help).
Mmmm, I’m not so sure we should be so quick to abandon our 90s friends like that. I gotta say, I got some nostalgic love for Pearl Jam and the joy of Rage Against the Machine and The Chili Peppers (Californication is great 10 years on) is something I’m only now starting to embrace. I made a 90s playlist a while back. I’ll post it.
Somehow I’m both a 90s tard and a 70s tard. I like everyone listed here save Marley.
