“Parents who mutilate their sons by having them circumcised for non-medical reasons should be tried for assault and child abuse. This is the 21st Century. Religion should have no part any more. We no longer sacrifice lambs and our virgin daughters in the name of God and religion, so why do we still insist on mutilating our children?”

I like my little snipped guy, and religion had nothing to do with it (my mom is Catholic, my dad is not much of anything, sorta lapsed Lutheran). Although my parents claim various hygenic and aesthetic resonings, I suspect the predominant reason behind their decision was that my dad was cut, too. It was familiar and what they would consider ‘normal’.

I don’t weep for my lost foreskin. They say I lost thousands of nerve endings, but I still feel everything quite sufficiently when I’m working one out (quite so sometimes, you ever try it with your non-dominant hand and it becomes a little too much and not in a good way?) I don’t have any frightening patched-together memories of the doctor tearing away my diaphanous folds, I don’t fantasize about what life would be like with a complete schvantz.

I didn’t even give it a thought until recently, when I started coming across the intactism that some people frequently promulgate online. I’ve got enough reasons to be marginalized already, gay in a straight world, skinny and hairless in a bear community, I don’t need another reason to feel diminished.

I love my little hoodless pp.
